born in caen (fr) in 1945, he makes his artistic studies and following training as glass-maker in beaune and chartres (france) in the workshops of mr. michel petit. he lives since 1970 in switzerland and is member of the spsas (ch) the swiss association of the glass-makers as well as of the french stained glass national association . he has his workshop in serix close to oron (switzerland) where he works glass in all his artistic forms and restores also stained glasses of all times. his trajectory is punctuated with many competition and solo or group exhibitions (france, switzerland, germany). he collaborates with official organizations and art galleries (french glass-makers: international center of the stained glass of chartres). his research are also developed in laboratory ( champs-sur-marne, france and epfl, école polytechnique fédérale Lausanne, switzerland). certain stained glasses shows important stages in the work of michel delanoë: the church of mollens ( switzerland 1974), the church "notre dame de la salette", sète (france, 1976/1978), the church "la chapelle des soeurs hospitalières" in sion ( switzerland 1977) an the church in bercher (switzerland, 1989). the sacred art lights other flames; glass wants to be untameable, alone in its light or dialoguing with other materials, by always reinvented techniques. important companies, the swiss confederation, the district of vaud, the city of lausanne contribute to make the artist well known. his work is perfectly integrated in the achievement of the inheritance of the contemporary buildings. in parallel, michel delanoë also realises many works for contemporary artists like fernand léger, pierre chevalley, coguf, mario masini etc. since 1996, our artist continues his search of the lights with works of great dimension. he has a great activity in new sculptures. architectural integrations coming out in new forms of wild light, alchemy of glass witch finds its new fields of expression. without any doubt, his works always find their place, showing an era of transparency. the exhibitions start again.... j.-d. chausson |
