1985 -
“meisterschüler” of prof.p. dreher, germany the works of matthias biehler is of the exemplary “mixed media”, openly placed on the wall but evoking to you the three-dimensional. after a series of experiences centred to the constant use of the hightend view like the perfect geometric construction of a crystal, symbol of formal purity. the use of various techniques, like example of antithetic languages might inspire parallel visions of the world. the artist landed in a composition of dry rigor and effective, in which he alternates, with precise sense of the equilibrium and of the obtained rhythm, insert objects and photographic bringing back with particular visual technique, to indicate the symbioses between objects without any context and apparently unconscious in their total strange of the nature. the eye of the artist searches, with the black an white photography, to limit the working of a human architecture, which context is his own world, from the spiral staircase to the architecture of the renaissance, to the barriers breakwaters that characterize the landscape of the adriatic coast, the place where m. biehler lives during his frequent stays in italy. to these subjects they are analogous bound together, casts out of concrete that reproduce tombstones or other bits of a generally not considered world that, instead placed like that, shows another signification, a geometric strength of a such natural architecture to harmonize itself fully with a strongly tried image, skilfully extrapolated from the daily landscape…. eduardo di mauro |
